New York fashion school nor the law school could seduce her from her love for patisserie cooking. Finalist of French “Master Chef 2011”, brilliant Claire Verneil is now a pastry chef at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel. Attracted by literature and languages, she studied law and became a lawyer but it was soon that she realised that her love for cooking and her willing to take lessons and improve her skills was the key to success! ” I was taking lessons at Lenôtre when I won my first competition. That’s what decided me to enrol in MasterChef. Winning fourth place opened doors to study with chefs in the finest restaurants such as the Amandier in Mougins and the Saint James in Bordeaux.”
After more than a year of training courses and visiting professional fairs such as the Salon du Chocolat in Paris with Michael Roth (the Ritz) Claire put aside her lawyer’s robe for a chef’s hat. Her passion for her job is clearly obvious, don’t you think?
Philippe Joannés asked her to join him at the Fairmont and there she is now- doing wonders in the cuisine.. I sure have a sweet tooth seeing all these brilliant pastry creations!
Claire Verneil loves travelling and collects cooking books from the places she visits. One of the places she enjoys visiting is Greece and I couldn’t agree more Claire!!! Hope to see you soon.. Summer’s up!!!
